Rules for 2020 season games

The following information was provided at the Dorset League (zoom) meeting on 23rd July for the forthcoming games.
-Home clubs to contact opposition captains prior to the fixture to confirm venue, pitch surface and any other local rules that may apply.
- Games will be 40 overs a side, with rules as per Div 3 games, but 1x new ball per team, per innings to be provided by each side.
- Umpires will be provided for Division 1 and some Division 2 games. If clubs have an independent umpire can they please record this on their Play Cricket site when entering match information.
- Match results are to be provided in the same format as before = text on the day of the game and details on play cricket site afterwards.
- No 30 yard circles required to be marked.
- There MUST be a break every 6 overs to clean the ball and sanitise hands. There are no exceptions to this and no local arrangements should be made as this is an ECB regulation and could invalidate insurance if teams were found not to be complying.
- Captains must make sure all of his players are aware of the rules and should deal with any issues of non compliance.
- Spectators must be advised not to touch the ball when it goes over the boundary and they should not mix with other players or enter player areas.
- Designated areas must be provided for each team and be for their use only.
- Play the game in a good spirit.
